By the Hand is a not for profit, religious organization. Individuals employed by By the Hand are working in ministerial roles and perform all or some of the following responsibilities: sharing the Gospel, teaching chapel, leading Bible studies, discipling students and modeling behavior that is consistent with Christ’s teaching.

Overview of Position

Reports to the Site Director and serves as the greeter for one of the By The Hand Club sites. This individual is an essential member of the team. They work before and during program hours, supervising the entrance to the By The Hand Club site and managing the flow of traffic in and out of the building. They are knowledgeable of the students, staff and volunteers of the site and maintains good relationships while ensuring safety policies are definitively followed.

Responsibilities

  • Performs in a way that is consistent with the vision, mission and culture of By The Hand and commits to excellence in every aspect of the overall operation.
  • Models cultural values of By The Hand Club For Kids in day-to-day behavior.
  • Follows all policies as outlined in the operational guide, including maintaining brand standards and ensuring 100% adherence to the Child Protection Policy.
  • Manages all parent pick-ups between site team to approved guardian.
  • Ensures 100 percent of adults in the building are approved volunteers or expected visitors.
  • Immediately informs Site Director or Assistant Site Director of any unapproved or unannounced visitors.
  • Reports safety issues to the proper authority immediately, and files a written record of any incidents involving police.
  • Ensures lobby area is set up and orderly before, during and after By The Hand Club programming.
  • Monitors students entering the site.
  • Keeps and reports on attendance of volunteers.
  • Greets visitors, volunteers, and partners and ensures they have understanding of where they are going and what is expected upon arrival.
  • Monitors and implements safety protocol if injuries or accidents happen per our standard procedures.
  • Ensure an up-to-date understanding of all events relevant to their site.
  • Completes, implements and reviews personal development plan with the Site Director.
  • Performs all other duties as required and assigned.


Qualifications

  • A personal and saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • This position requires a Christ-like servant leader who has a sense of calling and who models Biblical principles.
  • Member of a Bible believing church or an active participant in a Bible believing church.
  • Strong knowledge of By The Hand Club and ability to answer questions from potential donors, volunteers, parents, and partners.
  • Thrives in fast-paced, diverse, Christian-based and results-oriented environment.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Good verbal communications skills and hospitable demeanor.
  • Great team player, able to cooperate with multiple different teams.
  • Punctual and dependable.
  • Problem solver and creative thinker.

  • May have to work flexible hours as needed.

  • Has taken the evangelism explosion training course.


Education and Experience

  • Spanish speaking REQUIRED (By The Hand North Austin location ONLY).
  • Minimum of high school diploma and one year of experience in a front desk or administrative position.
  • Comfortable using Google Suite (Drive, Mail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets).
  • Personal and saving relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by a lifestyle that demonstrates the Word of God and displays a commitment to regular fellowship with other members in a Bible believing church.

  • Ensures 100% of adults in the building are approved volunteers or expected visitors.


Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopies, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to speak, listen, walk and sit for extended periods of time.This role may require you to move equipment from room to room and lift up to 50 pounds. Individual must be able to comfortably move quickly up and down stairs.
